There has been much written on stress as the scourge of our modern age. Unfortunately there is no one magic bullet to build resilience: different things will work for different people. It’s worth trying several things and in combination to see what is best for you, also bearing in mind this may change over time.
Our resilience is not uniform either. We may be extremely resilient in some situations but in others, much less so. Recognising these trigger points for ourselves is useful in order to be better aware of when we might need some extra support.
I have grouped the different strategies under two main headings – those things that we can do psychologically and physiologically. These are explored further in the next posts.
